An impression of a few Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
Translated by Omdevaji, with a little explanation of myself

1.8 : Viparyyo Mithya Jnanam Atadrupa Pratistham
Viparyaya: Incorrect cognition of perceived objects, this remains only at the shelf of things

While gathering and interpreting knowledge it is possible to make mistakes.
You can think of an incidental as if it were the essential.
This happens when you don’t check its relevance, whether your perception or interpretation is consistent with reality.

Predjudice is also knowledge that doesn’t want to be tested against reality. All incorrect knowledge is born in ingnorance

1.9 : Shabdda Jnananupati Vastu Shunyo Vikalpah
Vikalpa : Mental constructions made by desires

Words help you to get insights. They teach you to distinguish between the unreal and your core.

They remain only words. Being attached to words shuts you down for living in the moment, for what is.
Proofs are concepts that can be demonstrated.
Wandering settles for appearances.
Fantasy involves only words.

1.10 : Abhava Pratyaya Alambana Vritti Nidra
Nidra : Impressions during the sleep, void of external perception

1.11 : Anubhoot Vishaya Asmapramoshah Smritihi
Smriti: Impressions relating to previous experiences, previously conceived objects

Remembering is trying to hold on to all impressions.
You want to hold on to your past as complete as you can.
You resist losing too much impressions.

Yoga asks of you to let go of memories by not attaching to them, don’t look closely at what comes up and makes you restless when you do.
